Could MRSA be the real cause of my persistant skin problems?

In January or February of 2008, I had what I thought was a small spider bite on my left elbow. A friend saw it and said I needed to have it checked out. I had tried to squeeze out the poison (bad idea)!
At the hospital, the nurse told me never to pinch anything like that again. She said, just leave it alone and see if it goes away. They sent me home with 2 scripts, 1 was all my insurance would pay for, but the pharmacist pointed to an inexpensive alternative, over the counter, so I bought it.
They never told me it was anything serious, never told me to watch for any more areas that might become infected, nothing but a small note on the ER form that said MRSA.
Within a month I had a rash on my lower legs and arms. It has still not healed, despite repeated trips to the DR and repeated topical treatments.
I try so hard to help my skin heal, when I think it is finally starting to heal, small pustules erupt in the same spot or a new spot. I have deep scars on my legs, arms and now my shoulders.
I have given up on the doctors and their expensive steroid creams. I try to soak my skin in tea tree oil and olive oil, this seems to sooth it. It does not heal, does not go away.
I have resigned to the fact that this condition, (whatever it is) will never go away. I would not mind this so much if I were still in Montana, where I could cover it up, but I live in Florida where I cannot always hide the scars.
I am tired of people looking at me like I am a leper or something
